More Than 50 Technology-Based Exhibitors and 30 Presenters Discuss Smart City Technologies at DIPEC
More than 50 technology-based exhibitors and 30 presenters from both government and private sectors came together to discuss smart city technologies at Digital Putrajaya Exhibition and Conference (DIPEC). It happened in conjunction with Putrajaya Carnival and Open Day from 3rd Oct to 5th Oct. Exhibitors participated in DIPEC are such as TNB, Maxis, TM ONE and Alibaba Cloud among many others. Most of the exhibitors showcased their smart city solutions such as Smart Infrastructure, Smart Lighting and EV Charger. Two Pestech EV Chargers were deployed by TNB with one of them installed just outside the exhibition hall. The device was used to charge two of the Tesla Model S showcased by TNB. A Tesla Model S takes approximately 13 hours to fully charged for 600 km with a 7kW EV Charger that was showcased.
With “Building A Smarter City for The Rakyat” set as DIPEC theme and officiated by our Prime Minister YB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, it shows that government emphasizes on smart city concepts in city planning. As mentioned by Malaysia Institute of Economic Research (MIER) chairman Tan Sri Kamal Salih, targeted 50,000 units of Malaysia’s first EV will be launched in the first quarter of 2021. This has further proven the rising demand for smart infrastructure such as EV Charging infrastructure. Potential of EV Charger become new market in Malaysia is foreseeable as its application is not limited to public use only, but also can be a demand for residential use and corporate use. It can be observed through the electric vehicle charging station installed at Genting Highlands Premium Outlets and EV Charger installed in TNB Building for its employees.
An ideal EV Charger should always be user-friendly, easily accessible and able to bring convenience to its users. With simple cloud-based database platform and e-mobile payment, it offers a good alternative to chargers that are already in the market.
Pestech EV Charger is a complete charging solution as it combines EV Charging infrastructure, communication modules and Cloud-based software, to manage charging process and database. It has been installed in TNB Jalan Timur Building and received positive feedback on its overall ease-of-use and flexibility in operation. It is applicable for both indoor and outdoor as it is weatherproof with IP65. It can be implemented with myEVC (an EV Charging App) to enable end-users remotely control charging and manage their charging account with convenient payment gateway.
